Very rare art deco Rosenthal porcelain oval shaped Hans Schiffner design lidded box circa 1920's, Rosenthal Red decor. Richly decorated with a gold ming dragon atop waves, matt coral background, gold rims and an ornamental pattern to body. Made in Bavaria and handpainted. Makers mark to base ' Rosenthal Selb-Bavaria', Decor Rosenthal-Rot'. In really good condition given age. There is a very small chip to edge of rim (not really noticeable as the majority of chip is on the underside (shown in photo), minor scuff marks and some losses to gilt edging of rim. Height just under 5cm, width 13cm.
