Vintage Rosenthal Studio Line collectible and very romantic porcelain figurine designed by renowned French cartoonist and artist Raymond Peynet (1908-1999). From "the Lovers" series this figurine is in high quality white gloss porcelain and shows the boy, also known as "the poet,' holding a heart (perhaps holding out his own heart). Hand-painted in lovely soft pastel colours with stunning detail - birds, squirrels, flowers. Circa 1962. In fantastic condition. Artist signature impressed to top of mound on base with Rosenthal mark, signature and other marks underneath. Height approx. 28cm.
