Made in France this is a lovely BERNARDAUD hand sculpted bisque porcelain tealight with an embossed Parisien scene. This votive is crafted using the ancient technique of Lithophany where an etched or molded artwork in very thin translucent porcelain or plastic can be seen clearly only when back lit with a light source.  A tealight is placed beneath the dome and the glow beautifully illuminates the delicately raised and carved design. Manufactured in the town of Limoges, France. Bernardaud is considered a luxury brand and recognised worldwide. Makers mark to base. In good condition - no chips or cracks. Height 7cm.
